The Amazon River Quest is a 10-minute boat ride that allows visitors to view animals living along the edges of the Amazon River. These include the jaguar, Brazilian Tapir and Capybara.
The River Safari Cruise is a 15-minute slow boat ride along the scenic Upper Seletar Reservoir.

Are there theme park rides?
No. River Safari is not a theme park but a wildlife park that focuses on river habitats.
Visitors can go on the Amazon River Quest boat ride which simulates the experience of a boat expedition along the Amazon River to see animals in naturalistic habitats.  Animal sightings include the jaguar, Brazilian Tapir and Capybara.

Is the boat ride the main mode of transport in River Safari?
A large section of River Safari is designed to be accessed on foot. 85% of the park’s animal collection is designed to be viewed on foot, while the rest on the Amazon River Quest boat ride.

Key attractions such as the world’s largest freshwater aquarium at the Amazon Flooded Forest and the Giant Panda Forest can only be accessed on foot.

What is the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride)?
It is an open-top boat ride that allows visitors to meet animals living along the edges of the Amazon River. Animals featured include the jaguar, Brazilian Tapir and Capybara.

How long is the duration of the Amazon River Quest boat ride?
The Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Is the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) included in the admission ticket?
The Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) is not included in the park admission ticket.  Park admission allows visitors to see 85% of River Safari’s animal collection on foot. The Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) is an added experience that visitors can enjoy with a fee of $5 for adult and $3 for child between 3-12 years.

Do I have to purchase tickets for the Amazon River Quest boat ride?
Yes. The Amazon River Quest boat ride is available at a fee of $5 for adult and $3 for child aged between 3 to 12 years old in addition to River Safari admission tickets.
(NEW) Visitors planning to visit River Safari and take the boat ride can now purchase admission and boat ride tickets online at https://m.wrs.com.sg

Visitors with existing admission tickets (excluding boat ride) can purchase boat ride tickets River Safari’s Visitor Services Booth from 9.30am - 5.30pm daily.
Limited seats are available and bookings are on a first come first served basis.

I have a River Safari admission ticket which does not include the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride). Can I purchase boat ride tickets only online?
Visitors with existing admission tickets (excluding boat ride) can purchase boat ride tickets at River Safari’s Visitor Services Booth from 9.30am - 5.30pm daily.

Why is there an additional charge for the Amazon River Quest boat ride when it was previously complimentary?
The Amazon River Quest was previously offered complimentary to visitors in celebration of the boat launch in December 2013. From 5 March 2014, visitors are required to purchase boat ride tickets to go on the Amazon River Quest in addition to River Safari admission tickets.

We understand that some visitors may not wish to go on the boat ride or are unable to do so due to height and safety restrictions. As with all optional experiences such as animal feeding sessions and rides at our other parks, additional charges apply for the boat ride.

Can my child go for the Amazon River Quest boat ride?
Children must be 1.06m and above to experience the boat ride. The boat ride is governed by the Amusement Rides Safety Act which requires that we comply with the minimum 1.06m height safety regulation. As with all theme park rides, there are height restrictions for safety reasons.
For families with young children, a Child Swap area is available at the boat dock. A supervising adult and the child can wait in this area while the rest takes the boat ride.
For more information, please refer to Riders' Guidelines at http://www.riversafari.com.sg/wild-amazonia/guidelines.html.

Does the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) cover the entire River Safari?
No. 85% of River Safari’s animal collection is designed to be viewed by visitors on foot, while the boat ride lets visitors see the other 15%. Attractions such as the world’s largest freshwater aquarium at the Amazon Flooded Forest and the Giant Panda Forest can only be accessed on foot.

Can I see the animals if I do not take the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride)?
85% of River Safari’s animal collection is designed to be viewed by visitors on foot, while the boat ride lets visitors see the other 15%. Animals along the Amazon River Quest can only be seen via the boat ride.

Will the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) continue when it rains?
To ensure the safety and comfort of visitors, the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride) will be suspended if it rains. Furthermore, most animals will seek shelter when a storm approaches. As such, visitors may not be able to see them in such conditions.

Visitors can take the boat ride once inclement weather subsides and safe operations can be assured. Timeslots will not be replaced in the event of ride suspensions, and admission tickets sold are not refundable.

Why is there no roof on the Amazon River Quest boat?
The Amazon River Quest simulates the experience of a boat expedition down the Amazon River where visitors can spot the various animals in naturalistic habitats.
With various species of monkeys that reside on tree tops, an open-top boat design allows better chances of seeing these animals, many of which would not be visible with a covered boat.

Why can’t I see most of the animals during the Amazon River Quest (Boat Ride)?
The Amazon River Quest is designed to simulate a boat ride down the Amazon River where sensitivity and alertness to the surroundings are key to spotting animals among lush vegetation. In the wild, it is natural for animals to blend into their surroundings to hide in plain sight. Likewise, the animals along the boat ride exhibit similar behaviour, hiding behind boulders and vegetation.

While efforts have been taken to ensure the animals are displayed clearly, there will be moments when the animals may retreat to a shadier, less visible spot, for e.g. on a sunny day. In addition, some species may be well camouflaged when they remain still (e.g. iguana, capybara) while others may be smaller in sizes (e.g. palm-sized monkeys such as the cotton top tamarin and emperor tamarin). We believe in giving the animals the space that they need to roam freely and choose their favourite resting spots. No two boat rides will provide the same experience as it depends on the activity patterns of the animals along the boat ride.
